This is the initial release of the InterMountain Railway HO scale SD40-2W. The model has a new drive with six wheel HTC trucks, equipped for DC or DCC operation, plus optional SoundTraxx® Tsunami® sound effects. There are numerous finely molded features including snow shields, radiator fan blades, ditch lights, walkway tread, and cab interior. Etched metal details include radiator and fan grills, stair treads, drop steps, wipers, and antenna. Grab irons are metal wire. This version has the engine compartment hood without dynamic brake, and is painted black with the red cab and light gray side stripes. The lettering is light gray. Kadee® couplers are included.
